Pricing

One simple fee. No hidden fees, ever - all-in pricing, shown upfront. The price you set is the price your buyer pays; our fee comes out of your side, never added on top at checkout.

The fee

4.5% + 20p per paid ticket sold, taken from your share of the sale - not charged to your buyer.

Card processing included

This is the whole cost of taking the money. Ticketing platforms commonly quote a fee and then add card processing on top, so what you actually pay is two numbers added together and you don't find out the real one until you're in. Boutix pays the card fee out of the 4.5% + 20p. There's no second percentage, no per-transaction card charge, and nothing extra arriving at the end of the month.

The same fee applies to tickets your staff sell on the door by Tap to Pay on Android, and no security add-on is charged on those - see How it works.

Set independently for each ticket tier - also taken from your side, never charged to the buyer.

Completely free to issue - no fee on either side, ever. Up to 150 free tickets per tier.

When you get paid

Every ticket payment, online or on the door, goes straight into your own Stripe account: you're the seller, and buyers see your name on their card statement. Our fee is taken from each payment at the same moment, so there's nothing to invoice.

Your takings are paid out 48 hours after each date of your event finishes, automatically, straight to your bank account via Stripe - no need to request it. Occasionally, if door-scan activity for a date looks unusually low compared to how many tickets sold, we'll hold that payout and email you to confirm the date went ahead - every organiser gets the same chance to confirm, whatever the date sold, and confirming releases the payout straight away. This protects buyers against the rare "ticket mill" - genuine events with normal attendance essentially never notice it.

One more thing that's Stripe's doing, not ours: a brand-new Stripe account has its own short review period on its very first payout, on top of the 48 hours above. If that affects you, we'll still pay out whatever's cleared and automatically send the rest as soon as Stripe releases it - no action needed from you.

Marketing emails

Every organiser gets 500 contacts and 500 emails free, once, with no time limit. The free emails unlock once you've set up payouts with Stripe, and go to the buyers who opted in at checkout. To email a list of your own, or once the free allowance is used, pick whichever suits how often you send.

Pay as you go

Buy credits as you need them - they never expire.

Unlimited sending

A monthly subscription sized to your contact list.

Switch subscription tiers any time: an upgrade takes effect and is charged immediately; a downgrade takes effect at your next billing date, with no refund for the current one.

No other fees

No listing fee, no discovery or marketplace commission, and no monthly fee unless you choose the unlimited-sending marketing subscription above. Sharing your event link, generating a QR code, and embedding a "Get Tickets" button on your own website all cost nothing extra. Selling on the door costs nothing extra either - Tap to Pay on Android uses the staff phone you already have, so there's no card reader to rent or buy.

If something goes wrong

  • Refunds are not free, because card processing isn't. Stripe keeps its processing fee on a sale even after it's refunded, and that cost has to fall somewhere. When a buyer refunds within your stated policy, you get back the percentage part of our fee but not the fixed 20p per ticket, which we keep towards it. We absorb the rest. In practice a refunded £10.00 ticket costs you 20p and costs us about 15p.
  • If you cancel or postpone an event, buyers are refunded in full and our whole fee goes back with it - but because the refund wasn't the buyer's choice, Stripe's full processing fee on the original sale is recovered from you instead. It's taken from your Stripe balance where there's enough to cover it, and billed to your card if not.
  • If a buyer disputes a payment directly with their card issuer (a chargeback), Stripe takes the disputed amount from your Stripe balance while the dispute is open, and gives it back if you win. Stripe's own flat £20.00 dispute fee is passed on - that's Stripe's fee, not ours, and it applies the same way regardless of the outcome.
  • If a buyer resells a sold-out ticket through Boutix, the seller pays a flat £1.00 for the resale (deducted from their refund) - the new buyer pays only the original face-value price.

All of this is set out in full in our Terms & Conditions, along with when you get paid, what you're responsible for as an organiser, and how we recover anything you owe.
